Today’s contemporary funeral traditions offer many ways to honour and commemorate someone who has died. Whether you choose traditional interment or cremation, we offer a selection of services that provides opportunities for family and friends to say good-bye in meaningful and comforting ways.

Our services include:

• Traditional Gathering and Service
Family and friends are invited to gather over a period of one or two days, visiting and supporting each other in their grief, and expressing their concern and love. There is a funeral service in our chapel, or at a location of your choice, which may include a eulogy, specially chosen music, various personalization options, a procession, and graveside committal service. Interment or cremation takes place after the service.

• Memorial Gathering and Service
The period of gathering is followed by a memorial service in our chapel or other location. The service may include any or all of the elements of a traditional service. The cremation or burial takes place prior to the gathering and service.

• Graveside or Crematorium Gathering
This is a brief gathering at the graveside or crematorium that gives the family and close friends an opportunity to say goodbye.

• Transfer Service/Minimum Required Services
We provide the basic services, including recording of vital statistics that allow the burial or cremation to take place. There is no gathering or memorial service.

Of course, you may choose among many other types of tributes and services, selecting the elements that are most appropriate for you. We are always available to help you plan a dignified, meaningful service that commemorates the life that has been lived. Please ask about all the available options and choices.

We offer a wide selection of urns, cremation caskets and ceremonial caskets.

A word about cremation.

You may have heard that choosing cremation means you can’t have a traditional funeral service, but this is not true. You still have the ability to add thoughtful, personal touches and memorial tributes to honour and remember the person who has died.

Please contact us to find out about the many affordable alternatives cremation can offer.

The days that follow the loss of a loved one can be overwhelming for the family as well as the executor/executrix who is responsible for the estate of the deceased. For many, they are unsure of where to begin. Through our Continuing Care Program, Ward Funeral Home associates provide guidance and assistance with the necessary paperwork following a death. This may include preparing applications for death and survivor benefits, as well as notifications, transfer of benefits and any necessary cancellations. This additional level of assistance has been met with great appreciation by the families that we have served.

People who have suffered a loss need companionship, support, and closeness. We are committed to helping, with a complete library of books and brochures that can ease the grieving process. We maintain close associations with local counsellors, psychologists, and other caring professionals who can assist in a time of need.

We also sponsor memorial services, seminars, and workshops in cooperation with public health agencies. You’re welcome in our home, any time, to get the answers you need.
